"In 2010, my wife Marion and I recently took possession of our new home in South Surrey after moving from Alberta.
Over the past 26 years, the yard in our new home had become overgrown with various plants, shrubs and trees plus there was a large old shed in the backyard which limited our useable space. In addition, part of our yard was sloping toward the house and the soil underneath was mostly clay which all contributed to poor drainage and an unhealthy lawn, not to mention the issue of potential moisture problems around our foundation. There were also some very large tree stumps close to our back door that were rotting and attracting ants. Furthermore, the fence surrounding our back yard was old and unattractive and in need of repair. Generally, there was a sense of clutter everywhere which detracted from the overall look of our home. We knew we needed to make some major changes but we didn’t know how and where to start.
To proceed with our pending project we consulted with Scott McLeod of Fabulous Flower Beds. We quickly found Scott to be invaluable in providing us with a much needed vision and common sense plan that encompassed a realistic estimate of costs and a timeline of events. Having recently retired on a fixed income, and as a bit of a Do-It-Yourself fanatic, we found Scott very open to accommodating our wishes to participate in the work to help reduce cost. Through his mentorship and coaching, we quickly organized specialized contractors that were recommended by Fabulous Flower Beds. We found them to be ethical, competitive and they produced great work in a timely fashion.
Scott soundly demonstrated his overall knowledge in landscape design, project management and was well versed in how to source all the right materials and services to complete our project in a manner that has produced an exceptional result. Through his dedication to our project, Scott clearly exhibited his personal hard work, commitment, loyalty and friendship. "Scott McLeod, owner of Fabulous Flower Beds, has been a tremendous help and inspiration throughout our recent landscaping project.
We were at a loss to figure out how we could improve the appearance of our front yard after installing a new fence. Several plants had to be removed and we did not know where to start.
Scott provided us with various landscape design ideas and options that would help us solve our dilemma. With Scotts' guidance, and hands on assistance, a new single bed was created, enlarged and reshaped from an existing set of different flower beds. The result is a much improved design that has softened the look of our front yard while adding significant street appeal in a way that is complimentary to our home.
Scott suggested that we should make our decisions one step at a time and he has encouraged us to take a step back, slow the process down and observe after each new phase of the project before we decide what should be done for the next phase.
